Head Parking a ProFile
« on: June 30, 2020, 11:57:52 am »

I'd really like to buy a ProFile for my Lisa because as awesome as the X/ProFile is, I feel you're missing part of the experience not hearing a drive spin or the heads seek. Unless someone here has a spare they'd be willing to part with, I'm probably going to buy off eBay. I know in the PC world, hard drives of this era you'd have to manually park before moving or else you'd suffer data loss or total drive failure. Is there any provision to park the heads in a ProFile, or do the electronics automatically do that when you shut the drive off?

You haven't lived until you've heard the sound of a Sony 400k drive.

Leave it running for 30 seconds in idle state (red light on), then it will park itself.
