Pre-production Lisa 1 (from Facebook group)
jamesdenton:
Hello all,
A user on the facebook group recently shared some photos from their pre-production Lisa 1. Some observations they made include:
-=-=-=-=-=-=-
- There are no serial number or model number stickers on the case
- The case has 'prototype' on the inside of the plastic panels
- The case has an Apple Computer asset tag
- The motherboard doesn't have a reset switch
- The motherboard has two 3.5mm jacks
- The boards have model numbers that start with 'SK'
- RAM board: SK1159-04, (c) 1981
- CPU board: SK1181-03, (c) 1981
- Video board: SK1182-01, (c) 1981
- Power supply board: SK1183-03, (c) 1981
- System I/O board: 620-0017-K, (c) 1982
The Lisa 1 schematics that I have found are usually for the later version that was released
This is the schematic that most closely matches the motherboard I'm repairing (Note the drawing number, bottom right: SK1190-3 is similar to my motherboard number of SK1164-02): https://www.digibarn.com/.../lisa-motherboard-6-9-81.jpg
- I have the original boxes
- I have the original mouse and keyboard
- I have an Apple Profile card
- I have a NOS Apple Lisa Office

I've included some photos here for posterity.

Many thanks for this James! Very neat!

It's frustrating that people keep coming out of the woodwork to post fascinating things to that Facebook group --- I'm quite serious in saying that if that group didn't exist, I'd have finally deleted my account! I've been wanting to get rid of Facebook for years.

OT: I feel the same about FB, I categorically refuse to create an account on FB due to the privacy implications, though I was tempted to repeatedly, and it annoys me the same way that people post good stuff there. I'm told that the FB Lisa group isn't too interesting, well other than stuff like the above.

To be fair, a Google search for 'apple lisa group' returns the Facebook group on Page 1 (about halfway down), whereas lisalist2.com doesn't show up until Page 5. Even then, it's a link to an old group post.
Maybe it's time for Ray to put on his SEO hat :D
