Here is a video demoing my remote desktop style connection.

There are likely lots of ways to make this better (at least I hope so!), but this is my first success.

Lisa 2/10 Remote Desktop using miniVNC in MacWorks Plus II First Connection Demo (YouTube Version):

I hope this will (eventually) allow me to use the Lisa remotely from work as well as will enable me to make HDMI presentations since the RGB to HDMI options all seem buggery.

I played with miniVNC a few years ago and even worked with the developer to try and get better support for Lisa's unique screen resolutions ( H rom and 3A rom ).  I was even tweaking and compiling miniVNC myself using CodeWarrior on a PM G4.  In the end miniVNC was buggy and not very reliable under MW+II for me at the time.

BTW, I have been doing remote control with my Lisa's for over 30 years now using Timbuktu.

I few years back I even had a friend in London operating my Lisa in Chicago via tunneling Appletalk over the internet using Gatorboxes.   Timbuktu supports both Appletalk and TCIP connections.

This is a video of that event:

Hello Rick!

YES! very cool. Timbucktu is only old mac to older mac correct??

You are the same Rick in this one yes? https://youtu.be/BJqkBN8TZkc?si=otMC55BzlIhJs5FX that video is what inspired me to recreate what you had done, and also part of my inspiration to even get a LISA.

How do you have your Lisa connected to the AppleTalk Gateway?

I doubt I can find any of the hardware gateways, but if you can provide more information on the products, I will keep an eye out.

Do you have a BlueSCSI, and if so, have you tested it against the hardware gateways?

Note: you might be missing a close bracket for your URL insert...

Timbuktu (technically Timbuktu Pro) was not only for Mac's but did support Windows also.  I not sure if it's works with Windows 10, or 11 but remember using with it with Windows XP.

Talking details about gateways would require it's own thread.  I use Gatorboxes, but I also have used MacIPRpi https://macip.net/, and IPnetrouter https://www.sustworks.com/site/prod_ipr_overview.html
Depending on the gateway you may also need a LocalTalk bridge like the AstanteTalk or run Localtalk bridge on another Mac.

There are many ways to get Lisa (running MW+II) online and I have tried them all over the years.  While SCSI based ethernet (including BlueSCSI emulation)works fine, I prefer to use LocalTalk (Serial port B).

I had to do a search on the page, but I did get there, GREAT INFO..  Looks like gaterbox is the way to go, do you have both models? Did you have any capacitor issues?

I have both GatorBox CS and GatorStar GXR models.  They have been quite reliable.

Before you spend a lot time and money to obtain a GatorBox,  I recommend you look into the MacIPRpi https://macip.net/. This does everything a GB does ( less a LT bridge) and much more.
