You can use a 2/10 motherboard in a 2/5 chassis if you modify or replace the drive harness as shown below. The power harness can be used with either type of motherboard, although a 2/5 harness will of course lack the widget power connector.
I have converted almost all of my Lisae to 2/10. Partly because the internal hard drive connector is more convenient, and partly because the crummy 2/5 I/O and motherboards kept causing trouble.

My understanding is that the MacWorks Plus+II PFG and XLerator are commercial products that are still being made and sold ( in small volumes ). The developer is one of the Administrators of this site.
The Sapient Technologies boards cost many-many thousands of dollars to create, so I don't think you will persuade John to release the Gerbers anytime soon.

Depending on what you want to do with it, I may be able to provide partial info.
However, as Rick says, they are still sold commercially and sales help support other Lisa projects.
