Symbolic math for Lisa?
« on: September 30, 2022, 10:39:40 pm »

A review published in Volume 36 of the Notices of the American Mathematical Society (https://www.ams.org/journals/notices/198911/198911FullIssue.pdf) claims that there was a version of Power Math (an early CAS system for the Mac) that was first made available for the Mac 128 and LISA in 1985. It would be great if we can dig it out - I am not aware of any other scientific software that would run on the LISA.
Below is an excerpt from the original review:

"PowerMath II
Yvonne Nagel*
This is a review of PowerMath II, a computer algebra
system for the Macintosh. I reviewed Version 2.5 of
this program. It was originally developed by Industrial
Computations, Inc. for the 128 K Mac and Lisa
in 1985. Further enhancements were made in 1986
and 1987. The current version was made in 1987.
It is available from Central Products Corporation,
2211 Norfolk, Suite 518, Houston, TX 77098 (phone:
713-529-1 080)."
