Had a great time at the Queen City IS Con this weekend. Hundreds of people got to see a LISA for the first time, and dozens got to use the LOS or learn the LOS using LISA Guide 3. Oftentimes, it was standing room only in the village. Some students from Northern KY University spent a couple of hours on the LISA making documents in LOS (I will post about this separately, I need some help), and were so enthusiastic we took the LISA apart, pulling out the cards, PSU, and showing off the ESProfile.

Also the NABU was a big hit. I got to share some vintage hacking techniques (phreaking and cracking) , flux imaging, and the return of BBS and retro networking through FujiNet, GlobalTalk, and NABU Network.

Big thanks for donations, volunteers, and support from David Greelish for the DVDs and video display footage, David Griggs,  Philip Baitman, Dave Lewis, Tim Kaelin, Ivy Bowman, Paul Griggs, and, of course, from all the help I have received (and still get) from here on LisaList2.

The Retro Village was a big hit, scoring the most reviews and most positive reviews of any of the villages at the event!

Glad to hear it was a great success!

As an "elder millennial" i have mixed feelings about seeing a rotary telephone w/ pulse dial on display as a retro museum piece. Then I realize most of these attendees were born clear into the modern Internet and cell phone age, and have probably never used a touch-tone phone, seen a outdoor pay phone, made a collect call, or know what it means to have cell plans based on "minutes/month".

Is this what old is?

If it makes you feel any better it was chosen to match the Capt'n Crunch Whistle. ;)
