Title: Macworks Plus boot disk format
Post by: Al Kossow on February 20, 2023, 12:44:54 pm
Did Sun Remarketing change the boot disk format to something other than Monitor?
I just Ul'ed some images to http://bitsavers.org/bits/Apple/Lisa/macworksPlus and
noticed the boot disks aren't recognized by applesauce as Pascal disks
http://bitsavers.org/bits/Apple/Lisa/macworksPlus/macworksplus_boot_1.1H_cp2.dc42
is kind of fun. I sounds like a Mac when it boots

I ran this disk image thru Spyglass and it reports it as Lisa Monitor format, but won't show a catalog: https://macgui.com/spyglass/r/3775f38fc3a22828

Is the content on Page 8 of this document relevant here?

IIRC, the MW+/II floppy boot disk is just code... a boot block followed by contiguous blocks loaded into memory and called.
