I see that MacWorks Plus installs a ROM image which identifies itself using the same version word as the Mac Plus ROM: $0075

I have code that checks the low byte of this word and if the high-bit is set, the code branches for Lisa/MacWorks. This code does not detect MacWorks Plus.

What should I do to detect the presence of MacWorks Plus?

You should never, ever have to move the head stepper manually on a Profile*. Also, it's a bad idea to move the heads across the disk while it's stopped! \

I recall seeing something like that on my systems.... I ether wait to turn the disk on until the self test is underway, or hit space and wait for the startup from menu, let the profile finish doing its thing, then continue.

*If the profile has been sitting for a very long time and the grease has gummed up, you can unplug the electronics from the drive and power the spindle motor. Once the drive is up to speed then you can move the heads by hand and get the grease flowing again in the stepper bearings. When done, move the arm to the furthest spot from the LEDs, and power down.

It doesn't look much like the binder cover: http://www.bitsavers.org/pdf/unisoft/uniplus+/Binder_Front.jpg

There was an fellow in Australia (I think) on the Facebook Lisa group who said he had Twiggy UniPlus installation media... I begged him to consider sending them to me for imaging, but he demurred, which, fair enough; why send your irreplaceable disks to a stranger halfway around the world. He said he wanted to try and get his own Twiggy drives working so that he could do the imaging himself. I haven't heard any follow-up since.

Sigh... hope his media is still readable and hasn't flaked off or whatever.

It's frustrating that people keep coming out of the woodwork to post fascinating things to that Facebook group --- I'm quite serious in saying that if that group didn't exist, I'd have finally deleted my account! I've been wanting to get rid of Facebook for years.

To be fair, a Google search for 'apple lisa group' returns the Facebook group on Page 1 (about halfway down), whereas lisalist2.com doesn't show up until Page 5. Even then, it's a link to an old group post.

Maybe it's time for Ray to put on his SEO hat :D

To be clear, I don't care about SEO or Google's search ranking for this site.  Unlike FB, anyone can visit here and view the posts without a login.

FWIW: Cameo/Aphid doesn't seem to have any problems to speak of with UniPlus. Works fine for me if you use standard hard drive sizes.

Was scraping through the uniplus source and found an icon here: https://github.com/arcanebyte/uniplus/blob/5284d09674eacc325da78bbbf2a64e7b25b85794/v1.5/stand/console.c#L8
Can't say I understand what it's supposed to be a logo of, it but it seems to pass it to the Lisa Boot ROM, which means it should be rendered like it shows in the file below.
(About 20 years ago I wrote a small program to decode the Lisa Boot ROM icons. The Boot ROM uses an early packbits algo, I think.)
Here it is for shits and giggles, enjoy (or not), not sure what the UniPlus one is supposed to represent, whether it's an error in decoding or not.

I've also posted the output text so you don't have to compile it yourself if you don't want to.
(Rename the .c.txt to .c)
