Thanks; I'll see what I can do with them.

I've been corresponding with Ray about this offlist. I've resurrected my Mac II, which has a more-compatible 800K drive, and I've attempted to use A/UX's dd command to retrieve data from one of the "bad" disks. Unfortunately, it was only able to read 12 blocks before hitting a read error, and the "noerror" and "sync" modifiers that I hoped would let it skip past those errors were ineffective. (I should perhaps try it on another bad disk; it's possible that the disk in question was SO bad that it NEVER had more than 12 blocks of information on it. I never did a full restore from these disks, even when they were new.)

I've made images of 8 of the 16 "distribution" disks, which are plainvanilla  tar data. I will do the best I can with the other 8 distribution disks, and the two "installation" disks, which are where the copy-protection trickery resides. (I seriously doubt that a 1984 copy-protection scheme will have much of a chance against a 2008 full emulation environment.)

We'll keep everyone posted.
