Re: 400KB Lisa floppy drive non operational- felt pressure pad is missing

I have just examined the 400 KB disk drive: Many of the sub miniature caps are dried-out (I have a special capacitor tester) - the signal from the PCB to the R/W heads and vice versa is very weak and distorted.
I think it's futile to exchange all caps on the board... the best solution would be a replacement drive (or original Sony controller board) or even better: an upgrade to a 800KB drive.
