No.

The various operating systems detect what kind of drive it is and use the appropriate driver.

There is one exception (that I know of), which is Xenix. It assumes that you have a 10MB drive if the ROM ID is x/88, and a 5MB drive if you have x/A8. (Where x is the CPU Board ROM version -- doesn't matter for this.) However, you cannot swap the ROMs between the two variants of the I/O Board since they are coded differently.

I suppose there is a further restriction in that early LOS versions support 5MB drives only, but IIRC, they still work with larger drives, using only 5MB of them.
