The 'safer' (but awkward) way is to:

Note that removing the top cover of the Lisa will expose two potentially lethal dangers:

  1. the neck of the CRT vacuum tube is fragile and easily broken if bumped, if it breaks the CRT will implode and there will be shards of flying glass.
  2. the CRT operates at a high voltage

Look down at the power switch & keyboard jack assembly and you will see two screws holding the assembly to the bottom of the chassis. Remove these (easier with a long screwdriver) and you can lift up the assembly to tighten the jack nut.
