Hi ALL
I do not really know what the tower drive connected to, I read last year that it existed, but little other information..

However I think that the 80 meg Tower drive was basic to the Profile & widget concepts that could connect to the Parallel connector -- I would be easy to recode the Zilog Z-8 controller to talk to more than 1 drive, by using drive select lines ( the SASI and ST-412/St-506 could use up to 4 drives you know -- although the PC on implemented 2 drive in there system). In fact last year I did some design work for using 4 Profile drives to connect to a Profile controller ( I still need to hack the ROM in the Profile controller). Most of the Lisa stuff was designed by newly hired HP engineers.
