LISA PROGRAMMING INFOPART 2 OF 2Other stuff ...For a comprehensive listing of lots of interesting Lisa documents see my 1993 paper "the Legacy of the Apple Lisa Computer: An Outsider's View". It contains an extensive reference section. Here are 2 reviews I created in 1988 for the Lisa Workshop and Lisa Pascal compiler. Thought these may interest you. Note that my comments about the Workshop or compiler being derived from the Apple II (or III) systems is wrong. The WS and Lisa Pascal compilers had different origins (the WS was developed from scratch by Apple and the Pascal compiler was licensed from Silicon Valley Software [SWS]).[DOCUMENTS ARE ON DAVID'S LISA INFO CD]Here's my Apple Pascal history paper that may interest you:[DOCUMENTS ARE ON DAVID'S LISA INFO CD]For serious Lisa programmers, the LISA TOOLKIT was the development environment. It came with lots of documentation (2 large notebooks worth) and all the source code too. I have both the documenation and the source disks (I plan to scan the documentat ion at some point). For a great history of the Lisa see Owen Linzmayer's books "The Mac Bathroom Reader" or "Apple Confidential". Owen did a great job gathering facts from the original people, not from inaccurate 2nd hand accounts in books or articles which is how most computer histories seem to be made.I also have a CD filled with lots of Lisa info (ISO 9660 format compatible with both Mac and Windows). I am in the process of creating a 2nd CD that will contain all the Lisa Office System 3 user manuals and many other things (this CD will be finished over the Christmas holidays). I can make copies of these 2 CDs for US$10. Or, if you have some Lisa materials I don't have I can trade these CDs for copies of the materials. If you're interested send the money to:David T Craig941 Calle Mejia # 1006Santa Fe, NM 87501USAOverall, I've the Lisa's software architecture to have been very sophisticated and comprehensive for its time. I'm amazed that Apple was able to develop the Lisa in such a short time (1980-1983) wit h
a relatively small number of people.Hope these comments are of some use to LisaListers.----------------------------------------------------

I mentioned the recent "flurry" of messages of interest in the Lisa ToolKitto David T. Craig (a long-time Lisa historian who has compiled by far thelargest collection of Lisa information that I know of).Excellent! I have a couple more questions in relation to the compiler, could you forward them to Mr Craig? Or perhaps someone else on this list could answer these....END OF PART 2
