I think you mean PictureWorld... (Dataland was the one from M.I.T.) True, this one was from 1980, although I never got to read the paper [1] -- anyone knows where it can be found?

Apple actually confirmed that it used some of the ideas from PictureWorld, although I was under the impression that it was just a one-off research, and the further work on SAA/CUA was not its direct continuation. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
