Please don't use Reply to start a new thread

I've noticed that sometimes new threads with new subjects are being added to an existing discussion thread by Google Groups. That's because Google Groups looks for certain information in the message header that indicates whether it's a reply and what message it is a response to.

Changing the subject line isn't enough to start a new thread. You should create a new email when starting a new thread on the list. I've updated the list FAQ to include the following paragraph:

"We ask that you not use your email program's reply option to create a new posting to the list. This is because google groups may see that your message is a reply based on date in the message header and add it to an existing thread. When starting a new discussion thread, be sure to compose a new email instead of replying to an unrelated message."
