I wasn't going to post, but since this has come up, here's the alternate perspective:

As one of the "hagglers" who has been burned by John Woodall, I will say "caveat emptor" and "your mileage may vary"

In my case, I was attempting to get a *slightly* lower price on a partially working Lisa keyboard with "sticky keys" - not one of his repaired items, he spent no time working on the offered item - for my Vintage Mac Museum.  John was uninterested in haggling, and downright rude and abusive to his responses to me.  I find him untrustworthy.  This is not a judgement on his expertise - which semms top notch - but his client management skills.

Cast my vote strongly against Vintage Micros.  Many of his parts do seem expensive to me, but alas he has few other competitors.  Clearly he's been more of a help than an obstacle to most on this list, but John Woodall is not a saint, and buyer's may expect a rocky road.

I've been buying items from John since 1998.  He's a great seller.  He's extremely honest, you an trust his listings.  He knows more about Lisa Hardware/Software than anyone I know.  He also packs things extremely well.

I've heard some criticism on the list about his prices.  Buyers need to realise these items aren't run of the mill "As-Is" computers & parts.  When he states something is good working, it means he has personally tested the item.  His time & his expertise = a better product than most sellers & of course a higher price.  I know some collectors have attempted to haggle with John which leads to arguments if John won't go down.  I suggest not trying to haggle (especially offering considerably lower prices than he's asking), it's like saying his time is worthless.  It's insulting.  Most of his items are very reasonably priced anyways.

If you're looking for good Lisa parts, you can't go wrong buying from John.  Over the years I'm sure I've spent several thousand dollars & I've always been very happy with my purchases.

One of his many happy customers,
