Thanks, all.

I managed to make disk images of most of them using BLU. There were a few that BLU couldn’t copy, and I had trouble with the same disks when trying to use Disk Copy in Macworks and on a real 512k. It took using a PowerBook G3 with a fairly new disk drive to make images of the problematic disks.

Long story short, all of my original disks are un-serialized. I was able to install LOS 2.0 and all applications from the images without issue.

Thanks again for all the help!

Image the disks before using and back the original image up.

Install Los 2.0 and try to use the application, if it complains it has been serialized.

You can then use the same instructions with lisafsh-tool to deserialize it. You could also look at the directory entries with lisafsh-tool and see if it has been serialized without installing.

Subject: Confirming LOS disk serialization

Hello LisaList,

I just came into a LOS 2.0 package with original diskettes, and was curious to know the best (and safest) way to determine if they've been serialized yet. I found the instructions for de-serializing[1], so maybe using FEdit is the best way to confirm?

Thanks,
James
