VCF Midwest - what do you want to see?

(1/2) > >>

Lisa2:
I am going to have a table at the free to attend VCF Midwest show near Chicago on September 7th & 8th, 2024.

https://vcfmw.org/

It is my intention to bring some Lisa goodies to display at the show and have a lot of Lisa items, so the question is what to bring.  So I want to ask the group here what they would want see displayed or demonstrated at the show?   I am definitely going to bring all of the Sapient Technologies recreation boards that I worked on, but I really want to know what you folks would like see.  Other than a twiggy Lisa1, I have available most every piece of hardware, software, books, manuals, and other Lisa related do-dads available to bring.

I ask the question because I was just at VCF West earlier this month and I was disappointed to see the few Lisa's there were all 2/10's, no 2/5 systems at all.

So please let me know your thoughts, what would you like to see at a show?

Thanks,
Rick

If you have a Canon PJ-1080, you should set that up and let people draw and print stuff off. Last year for Southeast while I had mine on the table, all my ink bottles leaked in their bag so I wasn't able to keep mine up and running.

A printing demo is a good idea!

You have Ray's printer, correct?  I was thinking of bringing Ray's Lisa that was the inspiration for LisaEm, do you think folks would be interested in that?

If you think it might help, perhaps a note on a Lisa 1 asking other Lisa 1 owners to sign up for Twiggy Archiving - List of Lisas w. Twiggy drives, by location so we can reduce the chance of a unique twiggy getting lost in transit to a distant Lisa 1 for archiving.

.. and maybe a hardcopy of the Lisa Operating System source code (Thanks Al!) would be intriguing to some.

... and isn't there a clear Lisa somewhere (maybe John has it if you don't)?

Otherwise, that's awesome, I hope it is a lot of fun!

Yes, the 1080A I have was his. For both my Lisa and the printer, I put little "In Memory Of..." plaques on them dedicating them to Adam Rosen and Ray, respectively. I had a few people who actually paid attention ask who those people were, and it was a good opportunity to tell them about what both Adam and Ray have done.
