Apologies if this question is common knowledge, but what monitor worked out of the box using the Lisa composite out video signal?  I find tons of stuff about converting the signal to HDMI but when the Lisa was new, for what monitor was that port intended?

Not very many composite monitors work with the Lisa due to the high horizontal frequency.

There are some Conrac V44 series monitors that have sufficient horizontal frequency capability, and a few have been confirmed to work.

At the time the Lisa was for sale, Apple only documented 2 compatible video devices. The following is from an AppleLink Service Bulletin (or something like that, I forget exactly) :

Mr. sigma7 you are the most plugged in guy I have ever found on the internet.

Thank you for answering the question.

Curious they even added that port considering essentially nothing worked with it. I had read something about that large screen projection device in your two item list, but a 15' projection?!  If that actually exists somewhere that would be interesting.

Anyway, it just seemed likely to me that Apple would have manufactured something to use that port. Oh well.  Back to RGB2HDMI.

Lisa2

My guess is the Lisa's video output was intended for use with video projectors for giving presentations. At the time video these projectors cost more than a Lisa system, and it's use was more of a corporate, school, or government thing as only they could afford it.

I have two Conrac V44 15" CRT monitors made in the early 2000's that work with Lisa.  I think these monitors were originally used with medical imaging systems.   The monitors offered many made-to-order options, so not all V44's may work with a Lisa.
