I have an Asante' SCSI to Ethernet running off of a Sun SCSI card on System 6.0.8.

I can't seem to get it to run (memory issues) on system 7.1

I would like to share a folder on AppleTalk, but System 6x allows only clients.

Does anyone know if 3rd party sharing clients will work under MacWorks +IIpro ? (like TOPS)

I used Infosphere's XL/Serve (with MacWorks XL 3.0 and System 3.0 IIRC) which turned into MacServe (once Macs caught up to Lisas a bit : ), but I don't recall testing with MacWorks Plus/II.

I can't even guess if that's worth a try with System 6.

Some versions of MacServe are in the garden.

edit: added "Infosphere" since web search result quality has deteriorated Soooo much

The LisaFAQ claims TOPS is known to work with MW+/II... I guess Ray tried it?

Thanks I'll try and track down the software and let you know.

I can confirm that TOPS works with MW+II.   Understand that while TOPS works using Appletalk networking, it only communicates with other nodes also running TOPS.  You cannot connect with a Appleshare server via TOPS.  Also TOPS has DRM, and you must have a unique key file for each node. So if you find a copy of TOPS you can't install it on two systems on the same network, it won't work.
