The issue is transportability of drive images between machines (IRL <-> LisaFPGA <-> LisaEM).

Ideally the VintageMicros SN originally would have been the all zeros one, but it pre-dates Ray's (IIRC) discovery that an all zero SN not only worked but also magically didn't serialize the floppies. A new PROM for physical Lisa's with the zero SN could be the best option, but then there is the delivery problem.

I think the choice of the zero SN for the LisaFPGA is a reasonable/good one. Perhaps a GPIO jumper option to select the VM SN would be appreciated by some.

Ah, I always thought that the VintageMicros one WAS the zero one. Good to know that it's not. If someone can send me a dump, then I'll try to work on making it switchable. It might take a moment though; I'm pretty busy right now!
