Hi Jason,
Can you just clarify. How do you know it was continually seeking track 0? Does it make a particular noise? Alternatively, how does one know when the widget is going through the self-test? Is there a particular noise associated with that?
I'd like to figure out just what my error 82 widget is doing and whether a lack of low level format is the problem or something else?
Terry
The machine was giving the dreaded Error 82. The disk would spin up, the brake click, the head would seek to track 0, but then it would not continue the self test, it would quietly re-seek to track 0 over and over.
The machine has worked flawlessly since I did that "repair" 5 years ago. Man, has it been that long already?
