Hi Geoff,

I had similar problems with my 400KB and 800KB drives- you should have a known good 800KB drive (test it in your Mac Plus or Mac 512 KB etc.) Then you will need the SUNrem 800KB floppy disk EPROM for the Lisa I/O board, otherwise your 800KB floppy won't be recognized by the Lisa. As far as you told here you should have a Lisa Lite card.

The floppy drive looks similar to another tested good Lisa floppy drive I have from an earlier model (dated dec 1983) but that drive has a daughter board next to it in it's own Lisa and doesn't seem to work as a replacement (seemed to exhibit random activity) in the newer one. I've also tried a more modern 800k drive which also didn't work (same issue). FInally I tired a 400k drive from a 512k Mac from approx the same era but same issue there. Can anybody provide me with guidance on which kinds of Floppy Drive should work so I can determine if the issue is with drive compatibility or possibly an issue on the I/O board?
