Yes, but which of those images are you attempting to use exactly? What are the URL's to the files you've used? I'm sorry, but I don't have the patience to go through all of the files on that site.

Your previous emails mention MacWorks. Note that with MacWorks, you can't just mix and match any MacWorks boot with any MacWorks system disk. Some boot disks don't work at all, others will work in the right combination with a system disk. Some of the bad boot disks will crash the emulator outright. Others will work, but not with later versions of the System.

If the images are inside an archive or container, such as SIT, HQX, or MacBinII, even if they are DiskCopy 4.2 disk images, the emulator will not be able to make use of them. In those cases, they need to be processed by StuffIt Expander first. This would be the reason for the emulator to say it cannot recognize it as a valid disk image.

That said, I'm sure it would be helpful to HexStar, who runs that site to know which images are broken, so you'd be doing him a favor by pointing out the bad ones.

Note that the very first release of the emulator is unworkable, you should not be using it at all, as all profile and disk image support is broken, and it may even corrupt good disk images under some instances. This is why there's a bit of text warning you not to use them "2007.01.24 Preview Release - Obsolete DO NOT use"

The Beta or the RC1 are what you should use, but they too have their own bugs and limitations.

Hope this helps. Received on 2007-05-04 10:16:20
