Hi James,

Sounds good, I'd like to suggest adding the rest of the uucp suite if not already done and if possible on the RPi, though that may require compiling from sources, etc. That will allow file transfers and all sorts of other goodies, maybe even a usenet beyond just forwarding email, though disk space would be an issue... I guess you followed this: http://www.postfix.org/UUCP_README.html ?

There's a good (if ancient) article here, https://www.linuxjournal.com/article/1328 though I haven't setup uucp myself and was wondering about the step on modern armbian/raspbian, etc., hence the ask. :)

I guess ideally if we could provide a raspbian distro that could be installed via Noobs, that would best.
I've sort of built something similar to this last year to build a GNUstep desktop called pios that I haven't completed - I could share the script I used for that to help with this project. Let me know if there's interest.

GPIO serial could work, though you'd likely need a voltage converter, so USB-to-serial is easier and more straightforward in the long term. (BTW, I think you might mean SMTP up there - SNMP is networking monitoring as in used by nagios, sensu, prometheus, zabbix, etc.)
