I wasn't going to post, but since this has come up, here's the alternate perspective:
As one of the "hagglers" who has been burned by John Woodall, I will say "caveat emptor" and "your mileage may vary"
In my case, I was attempting to get a *slightly* lower price on a partially working Lisa keyboard with "sticky keys" - not one of his repaired items, he spent no time working on the offered item - for my Vintage Mac Museum. John was uninterested in haggling, and downright rude and abusive to his responses to me. I find him untrustworthy. This is not a judgement on his expertise - which semms top notch - but his client management skills.
Cast my vote strongly against Vintage Micros. Many of his parts do seem expensive to me, but alas he has few other competitors. Clearly he's been more of a help than an obstacle to most on this list, but John Woodall is not a saint, and buyer's may expect a rocky road.
