Is this the return code from the SCAN command (0x04), or something that comes from BLU? In case of success the scan command reportst status 00 00 00 followed by the number of bad blocks found. So 00000003 just meanst your spare table has three entries.

If you restart the ProFile with the RW ROM, the surface scan should stop three times to check these spare entries in the spares table.
