Lisa 2/5 turns on when plugged in

I've got a Lisa 2/5 I am trying to get up and running. Well, two of them actually. One of them powers on as soon as you plug it it. The screen comes up with garbage on it. Only when the I/O board is plugged in. The I/O board looks like it has some trace damage from those *$(! leaky batteries. Before I dig out my Lisa schematics and ponder over them, anyone know off hand what circuitry I should be suspecting?

The other one will sometimes emit three beeps immediately - no video or anything else. I can't seem to find anywhere what three beeps means. Or is it really beeping once (memory sizing error) and twice (problem with first 2K)?
