Sounds like it's doing a lot of retrying.

The only thing that I can find that mentions a slow floppy drive comes from the Sun Remarketing Do It Yourself Guide. It indicates a problem with an 800K drive. It's possible that you may have an 800k drive ROM and are using a 400K drive, or vice versa.

What's the part number written on the I/O board ROM? This may give us a clue. Also, does your Lisa have a LisaLite Adaptor card on the side of the drive cage next to the floppy? If it does, try directly connecting the drive cable to the floppy and see if that helps it any.
