There was an ImageWriter emulator for these postscript printers. You'd first upload a postscript file containing the emulator, then anything further you sent was printed as if from an IW.
I remember seeing this file many years ago, but never had a LW to try it with
It's possible this worked from the Lisa without Mac Works over a serial interface if the emulator was somehow first sent.
It should work from MacWorks.

</div>I don't think it will work either. The LW has Xerox Diablo 630 emulation, but I think this is going to be different than the Qume / Daisy Wheel Printer protocol. It would be easy enough to check if you have both devices.... which I do, but my LW is broken with some sort of fault on the formatter board.
In a basic way it would work by copying and pasting text into LisaTermina.

I posted this to cctalk, but realised it would be better here...so far from what I've been able to search out the answer is no, the Apple LaserWriter never worked with the Apple Lisa.

A colleague was adamant that the Apple LaserWriter worked with the Apple Lisa; my counter was I thought he was likely confusing his memory with the Mac XL which via Macworks and LocalTalk could use the LaserWriter drivers to print although more slowly due to the 3MHz speed difference (Mac XL at 5MHz, Macintosh Plus at 8Mhz).
I found some evidence in InfoWorld that states that the LaserWriter would not be supported on Lisa Office System 7/7.

Anyone know different? would Lisa 7/7 been unable to support the LaserWriter due to other software limitations?
