My goodness, some of you people are treating the Lisa like something sacred. It's just a computer. It was built as a tool. It may have been worth $10,000 once upon a time, but there are only a few reasons to own a Lisa today:

  1. Nostalgia/historical significance, in which case it should be as "original" as possible.
  2. Curiosity. Some day I'd like to own a Lisa just to experience it and compare it to nearly 20 years of Macintosh use.
  3. Salvage, like turning a broken Lisa into an aquarium or modding it.

This list is intended to support all Lisa users, and while most of us would prefer that they remain usable as Lisa computers, where else is someone going to turn who wants to mod a Lisa if not here?

Useless communication? I don't think so.
