Parallel Card problems

I have just acquired an Apple 2 port Parallel card so that I can hook up my X/Profile and my newly built IDEfile. The problem is that the card only works in slot 2.
Slot 1 produces error 10738 when trying to boot from either the X/Profile or IDEfile. The card is not even recognized in slot 3. Slot 2 seems to work perfect however. The problem is I need slot 2 for my SCSI card and drive, otherwise it won't fit.

Anybody had a similar problem?
