The even bytes are junk, usually 0xFF is a good value to return there. Offset 24 is the even byte for 0xfcc017, which is the self test diagnostic result. It makes sense for it to read 0xfcc017 but not 0xfcc018. I guess it's a bug in UniPlus's design that happens to work on real Lisa's since there's no actual memory at 0xfcc018 so most of the time it gets a garbage non-zero value.
