   o Operating System (file/process/memory/event managers)    o Drivers

Note that BitSavers.org has the source listing for the Sony 3.5" floppy disk driver that is built into the 6504 microprocessor. The Lisa uses the 6504 to interface to this floppy drive as a "smart drive" so the Lisa doesn't have to know the details about the drive to read/write/format. Believe this driver was later used by the Macintosh IIfx computer (http://lowendmac.com/1990/macintosh-iifx/) which used this same "smart drive" architecture.
