This answer is incorrect!
The PFG is a special device which attaches to the main part of the Lisa's disk controller and is able to better "simulate" a real Mac Floppy controller chip found in a "real" Mac Plus. The frequency is software controlled by MacWorks II plus to read and write even bad written Mac GCR coded Floppies.
