I would expect the problem is dirty contacts:
Most likely:
- I/O Board card edge connector
Less likely:
- Power supply card edge connector
Clean with alcohol or electronic contact cleaner. (The latter often includes a silicone lubricant which is likely to preserve the life of the contacts by reducing friction and oxidation.)
You can use a pencil eraser on substantial corrosion/build-up, but be very gentle to avoid erasing any gold plating.
Of course there could be a more substantial problem requiring replacement of some part, but problems due to dirty contacts are now very common.
