well i received another disk image of the boot floppy, but with the same result. Then i was thinking, could it be that am taking the wrong road? i use the boot floppy to boot and format the widget drive. that succeeds, but the it hangs at a sort of shutdown. no prompt and no reaction from the keyboard. the machine imidiately turns off after pushing the power button. Then again i boot off the boot floppy and try to run the script "firsttime" which calls install with teh known result.

maibe i should try the install 1 disk here, or boot from the hd?

any ideas?
