Re: Question about Sun Rem SCSI card

My MacWorks is from the compact flash card supplied with the X/ProFile widget emulator. The compact flash card is labeled "LISA MacWorks Plus", a SanDisk Shoot and Store 32 mb card. It loads MacWorks Plus 1.0.18, Finder 6.1, System 6.0.2.

I've been searching the Web about using a Zip drive on a LISA and evidently, if the LISA using MacWorks Plus is equivalent to a Mac Plus, I need to load the Zip driver 4.2 to have the zip disk recognized. This is discussed in detail at some sites including: http://68kmla.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2209&sid=e5364334e6999426a8db972aa56e429f

It may be that simply by installing the driver 4.2 I'll get the zip drive to work. It's not clear, but I may have to reformat the zip disk with Lido 7.56 first. It is also not clear, but I may need to have System 6.0.8 rather than the current 6.0.2 to run the zip driver 4.2. I'll try simply installing the zip driver on what I have first.

I am not sure that the copy of MacWorks Plus 1.0.18 I have supports SCSI. I guess that adds one more variable in the problem. Now I'm awaiting a USB to compact flash adaptor that I can use to load the drivers onto a CF card so I can copy the drivers into the LISA widget emulator boot CF card system 6.0.2 folder. I can then also try the Apple Power CD driver v1.01 "PowerCD driver for Sys 6 and 7" I downloaded from Mac Driver Museum to see if my AppleCD 600e will then work. Hopefully I didn't damage the SCSI card by inadvertently soldering those two traces to ground.

Thanks for all of your help. I will certainly let you know how things progress. It may be a few weeks since I'm awaiting the USB/CF adaptor and will be away on vacation for about 10 days starting next week.
