I haven't tried installing Office on a modified Lisa, however, I did try it with the emulator, and what happens is that it displays a jumbled display (as if the horizontal hold is off) - I'm not sure that the Lisa Office 3.x installer knows to check for the 3A ROM. I think it just checks for it being a Lisa 1 vs a Lisa 2 ROM. Mind you, it might have worked differently in the emulator than on the real thing.

Unless his really says 3A/88, he doesn't have the screen modification ROM, and anyway, ROMs can be replaced. He'd need a new VSROM and the two halves of the H-ROM to get it going, and possibly removing the extra transformer between the video board and the CRT - if it was installed.

But sadly, I don't know of a way to fix a full spare table on a hard drive other than low level formatting, and we don't have the means to do that with Widgets at the moment. It's difficult enough to get the right stuff to do a LLF on a profile as is.
